The Rose and Crown is definitely up there with one of the best traditional pubs to visit as a student! 

It’s located right next to London Bridge and offers its customers a wide variety of food and drink.

A burger we totally recommend has to be The Juicy Bastard. As far as burgers go, it’s been voted one of London’s top 5 burgers…we’re dying to try one and bet you are too!

Luckily for you – The Rose and Crown is open 7 days a week from 10am until late, so there will always be time for you to change your schedule and pop in!

Now, for the exciting part, they even offer a happy hour…every student’s dream! 

From the hours of 5pm – 7pm, treat yourself to 2 for 1 on any gin & tonics, or receive 3 for 2 on daily draft beer. There’s even the option to get £5 off any bottle of wine or prosecco!

‘Lovely little traditional pub located on  quiet street (for london).there are a few picnic benches with umbrellas outside and lots of tables inside. £5.10 for a pint of Estrella but you are essentially next door to the shard.’

2. The Vault

Really enjoyed a pint at The Vault, excellent beer garden on the banks of the Thames with great views. Had a well kept pint of Meantime, (well,  I think it was one) served by helpful and pleasant staff. Well worth an early visit before the crowds come back.’

3. The Barrowboy and Banker

Prepare to be in awe with a visit to The Barrowboy and Banker.

This Victorian-style pub features detailed oil paintings, a magnificent sweeping staircase and marble colonnades. 

They live by their motto ‘epic ales and perfect pies’ – so, as you can imagine, you’re in for a right treat visiting here for a drink and food after uni!

It has an ever-growing collection of cask ales and craft beers, which they import internationally and celebrate the best of local London breweries. 

They’re even dog friendly so you can meet some fury friends, pups and pints? Yes please!

4. The Miller

If you’re looking for a vibrant venue which holds awesome live music, sports showings and comedy events, The Miller is the place to be!

This London Bridge pub offers a rotating cask selection, and you can find some London breweries such as 5 Points, Brockley Brewery and Weird Beard. 

We’ve also seen pictures of their burgers and WOW, they made us droooool! Ps they do not skimp on the portion sizes, making it great value for money.

For students, we know just how much you love a good deal and The Miller has offers every day of the week.

Our top favourite has to be Two for Tuesday’s – buy two of the same cocktails for £12…what a bargain!

If you’re fancying some alfresco drinks, this independent pub has a nice little beer garden to enjoy a tipple.

Whenever we are in London we make sure we pay The Miller Bar behind Guys Hospital and minutes from both The Shard and London Bridge Station a visit.  I would highly recommend the food in this treat of a bar ,with The Miller Burger being a favourite.”

5. The Horseshoe Inn

The Horseshoe Inn is a traditional English pub near all the London Bridge pubs and The Shard.

It’s extremely popular amongst students, locals and tourists for its friendly atmosphere and great menu!

‘Friendly and fun! The Horseshoe Inn is barely a stone’s throw from the ever-busy London Bridge station yet this pub manages to maintain a sense of seclusion tucked away behind newbuilds and tower buildings. We found plenty of outdoor seating and a very warm welcome. Couldn’t recommend it more highly, really.’

6. The Shipwrights Arms

Last, but certainly not least, The Shipwrights Arms is a large sports pub perfect if you fancy watching some live sports.

The drinks and food menu are second to none, offering a wide selection of continental lagers and up to 6 real ales.

You can also bag yourself a classic Beer Battered Fish & Chips or bangers  & mash…delightful!

This London Bridge pub is actually a Grade II listed building and was built in the mid-late 19th century.

The exterior gives the pub its character and charm, which we guarantee you’ll automatically fall in love with!
