For those living in our student accommodation, we’ve tried and tested the top restaurants in High Wycombe so you can find your new favourite foodie destination!

1. Kappad Restaurant

So you’re wanting to get a taste of the food scene in High Wycombe?

If so, you must take a visit to Kappad Restaurant.

Situated on the High Street, Kappad is the place to be for authentic Kerala cuisine, with an extensive menu of mouth-watering South Indian food. 

Ditch the cooking for a night and eat out with friends at this much-loved eatery, with dishes like Masala Dosa, Malabar Fish Curry and Mutter Paneer on the menu.

For those wanting to wet their whistle, there’s a range of aperitifs, beers, ciders, spirits and wines to choose between – dining out can’t get much better! 

They’re open 6 days a week from lunch through to the late evening, so if a flavourful journey is what you’re after, pop in.

2. Bluegrass BBQ

Smoked cuts of meat paired with craft beers is the name of the game over at Bluegrass BBQ.

This independent casual-dining restaurant specialises in the tastes of Southern America, with the ultimate comfort foods on offer. 

From smoked chicken wings to smoked brisket chilli to pulled pork to bourbon BBQ n bacon burgers, you’ll never go hungry when eating out at this place. 

That’s not all either, they also serve tasty American breakfasts, fluffy pancakes, and bottomless tea and coffee. 

There’s special deals on every day of the week here too, like Wing Wednesdays and Dirty Mac Mondays so you’ll certainly get good value for money.

3. The Works

No, we’re not talking about the place that you buy stationery from, The Works is a family-run restaurant which offers all the sweet and savoury plates you could want. 

Whether you’re craving an all day brunch, a club sandwich, a hot dog, a sweet crepe, a loaded waffle or even an ice cream sundae, The Works has it all. 

Located on the High Street, this independent food hub has lots of options for you to customise your order, and friendly service you’ll struggle to find anywhere else. 

With over 20k on Instagram, we’d say this is a pretty popular haunt for eating out!

4. Cafe Roberto

So you’re searching around for the top restaurants in High Wycombe?

Cafe Roberto needs to be added to your list, pronto. 

This charming Italian restaurant opened back in 2021, and despite being a newcomer to the restaurant scene in High Wycombe, it’s a favourite amongst students and locals. 

The authentic Italian cuisine at Cafe Roberto is cooked to perfection by Italian Chef Lello.

With stoned baked pizzas, home made burgers, pasta and rice dishes as well as side orders for you to sink your teeth into.

A must-try for your main course is their Penne Salsiccia E Piselli, made with Italian pork sausage meat, peas, shallots and a dash of cream.

For those with a sweet tooth, try their Double Chocolate Gateau for dessert – you won’t be disappointed!

5. Historia Meze Grill

Historia Meze Grill brings traditional Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine to High Wycombe. 

From the moment you step into this Oxford Street restaurant, you’ll have a dining experience that is nothing short of fantastic.

With high quality food, friendly service and relaxed surroundings. 

Whilst eating out with your friends for dinner, you should try their Baba Ganoush for starters, and their Ali Nazik Lamb Shish for your main course.

Opening back in 2016 on Paul’s Row, Heidrun has an amazing selection of beers and tasty food, which is served within laid-back surroundings. 

Focusing on a simple bar menu, Heidrun serves sizzling burgers, delicious chicken wings, cheesy pizzas and appetising nibbles. 

Whilst munching on Caribbean Jerk chicken wings, you can also sip on a flight of beer with their deal costing just £15.

When you’re in need of a casual dining experience, Grounded Kitchen should be your first port of call. 

Situated inside Eden Shopping Centre, Grounded Kitchen brings the vibrant and flavourful cuisine of Korea to High Wycombe. 

Feast on feel good plates including Korean nourish bowls, udon and ramen noodles, Bao buns, chicken wings, and Ssambaps, the list is endless. 

To quench your thirst, they have quenchers, frappes, superfood lattes, ginger beer, rose lemonade and more.

10. James William Diners 

Our list wouldn’t be complete without mentioning James William Diners, your go-to spot for authentic Caribbean cuisine. 

Since opening in 2021, this tasty mini-diner has been drawing in customers from all around High Wycombe with their dishes like curried goat, oxtail, jerk chicken, and jackfruit curry – mmm. 

While the drink menu promises Caribbean punches like carrot juice, pineapple punch and sea moss.
