4. Halloween Paint-n-Sip
Next up within our guide to Halloween events taking place in Southampton this year is the Paint-n-Sip event.
Whilst many students do enjoy a good rave or a pub crawl, Halloween is a holiday enjoyed by all so it’s only right to provide a more relaxed option for introverts.
This event is organised by the Paint Chill Co and is focused around the joy of art, with local artists being there to help guide attendees and help to break the ice.
You can unleash your inner artisté with a Halloween theme to the night!
All materials you may need are provided by the organisers.
Meaning don’t have to worry about clumsily carrying along a collection of paints or even a canvas from your student flat.
You can simply leave with your finished 16×20 inch canvas at the end of the night.
Don’t worry, there’s absolutely no need for any prior experience – those who can only draw stickmen as just as welcome as those who are ready to paint the new (Halloween version of) Mona Lisa.
So, for those students looking for something more chilled, this is a great alternative way to celebrate Halloween.
The best part is you get to paint and keep a canvas in the process!
Dates: 25th October, 7:30-9:30pm
Address: Revolution Southampton, 28a Bedford Place, Southampton, SO15 2DB
5. Halloween Cinema Visits
There’s something so great in getting together with some friends and going to see the scariest films currently showing for the spooky season!
Southampton has a lot to offer for cinema goers with both the Harbour Lights Picturehouse and Showcase Cinema De Lux offering a variety of film showings for the holiday.
On the 30th of October, Harbour Lights Picturehouse are showing The Shining for those fans of the intense, or Paranorman for those who just want some spooky vibes without needing the lights on when it comes to bedtime.
For the more mainstream Showcase which will be showing Halloween Ends for the hardcore horror-heads and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets on both the 30th and 31st of October.
They’re also showcasing Don’t Worry Darling, Barbarian and Prey for the Devil and Smile.
Sometimes a spooky film with friends and some popcorn is all you need to celebrate the ghostly holiday.
It can certainly be nice to skip the hangover sometimes, too.
The best part is, if you’re staying in a student property which has a cinema room you can watch your own films right at home!
