There’s no doubt that there’s a huge amount of delicious eateries in Birmingham to give your taste buds a treat! The major city is known for its overflowing options for foodies, from Michelin-starred fancy restaurants to street-food on a budget.

Located at Grand Central, pizza lovers get to pick from over 50 ingredients to create exactly the pizza they want, all at a fixed price!

There are loads of toppings to choose from, including spicy Italian sausage, pineapple and Gran Moravia cheese if you’re feeling fancy.

Our personal favourite is the “White Dog” with garlic & ricotta sauce, mozzarella, grilled red onion, grilled red peppers, pesto basilico Genovese garlic oil, rocket and Gran Moravia cheese.

The ingredients are deliciously fresh with a Subway style ordering system, allowing you to to see all the toppings available. 

If you’re looking for a place to eat in Birmingham, you’ll get great value pizzas which taste amazing and ideal if you’re feeling peckish after some studying.

2. Digbeth Dining Club

Founded in 2012, Digbeth Dining Club is a trendy street food destination in a multi award-winning venue. 

When it come’s to places to eat in Birmingham, this isn’t your usual dining setting. There are numerous trader’s offering up a variety of delicious food at an affordable price.

There are so many tasty options at Digbeth Dining Club that it would take forever for us to list them all, but a few highlights are the Vegan Curry from Buddha Belly and the hot dogs from Fat Snags. 

If you’ve got a sweet tooth, there’s the Beki’s Brownies, Urban Cheesecake, and many more places to choose from. 

For students wanting to go out and socialize with their friends, the vibe here is fantastic with a great choice of music. 

Just be sure you’re wearing some nice comfortable trousers whilst visiting, because your belly is going to be full!

3. Grand Central Kitchen

Did somebody say fry-up? Grand Central Kitchen is a small friendly independent restaurant much-loved by students and locals for their delicious and affordable full English breakfasts. 

Whether you fancy a nice hearty breakfast after a big night out, or a quick bite with friends, this eatery has many mouth-watering meals on offer.

If you’re not a morning person now, you definitely will be once you’ve tried one of their breakfasts!

Slept through your alarm? Fear not, there are plenty of lunch options available from tantalizing burgers to filling jacket potatoes.

Grand Central Kitchen have some great reviews for their coffees, so if you’re not feeling too hungry, you could always grab a nice warm latte whilst catching up with your friends before heading shopping.

4. The Meat Shack

Everyone loves a good juicy flame-grilled burger, if you’re a big fan of stacking your burger with loads of tasty toppings, The Meat Shack is the place for you!

This eatery specialize’s in gourmet burgers, or as they like to call it ‘dripping filthy goodness’ what’s not to love?

The location itself is really ideal too, being close to Birmingham Hippodrome and Birmingham’s 02 Academy, this place is perfect if you want to grab a dirty burger before a gig. 

They have a scrummy range of burgers including the ‘Dutch Piggy’ which is an aged beef patty with Dutch gouda cheese, American cheese, streaky bacon, smokey chipotle mayonnaise and ice-berg red onion. Is your stomach rumbling yet?

Fancy a beer? This place has a fantastic range of alcoholic drinks to choose from too.

5. Kimchi Korean Restaurant

When it comes to the best places to eat in Birmingham, Kimchi Korean Restaurant offers delicious Korean and Japanese food at a very reasonable price.

Located in the renowned student area of Birmingham, Selly Oak, this is the ultimate destination for students looking for some comfort food to munch on after a busy day. 

We recommend the Korean Spicy Chicken Wings if you fancy a kick, or the Soon Dobu, which is mixed seafood and soft tofu in a chilli broth, with an egg yolk placed on top that slowly cooks at the table. 

They offer some refreshing soft drinks and alcoholic drinks from Kloud beer to Aloe Vera to Bong Bong Grape – you’ve gotta give them a try!

BA-HA is a scrumptious vegan restaurant located at The Rainbow in Birmingham which serves tasty plant-based food.

The ingredients are always fresh and sourced locally, making this venue the highest rated plant-based restaurant in Birmingham city centre.

The homemade Katsu Chick dish is a particularly hot topic with golden Kentucky strips in katsu sauce, seasoned fries, slaw pickled radish and sesame – you won’t be disappointed!

‘Royal King Kentucky Burger’ is another favourite, the crispy double stacked king oyster mushroom is covered in Kentucky batter, garlic mayo, and a homemade cheese sauce (craving pending).

7. Wok Chi Oriental Kitchen

This Chinese and South East Asian restaurant offers loads of dishes that are simply too die for. 

Their food is very reasonably priced and the portions are absolutely huge which is always a bonus.

They also have tons of options for vegetarians and vegans so no matter what your diet consists of, you can find something yummy. 

We’d have to recommend the Cripsy Salt and Chilli Tofu or the Sweet Soy and Sesame Chicken Wings for ultimate tastiness.

The interior of this place is great for sitting in and enjoying an authentic Chinese meal. 

However, they do offer a takeaway service if you fancy staying in your PJ’s and having a quiet night in!

8. Hens & Chickens

This popular Indian Desi Bar & Grill provides local ales and authentic curries, a fantastic combination!

Hens & Chickens was completely transformed into a spacious bar and eatery a few years back, and the sterling reviews speak for themselves.

Brothers Sonu and Sunny Rull bought Hens and Chickens in 2012 and introduced a North Indian menu of Punjabi cuisine.

The buzzing atmosphere adds to the delicious food providing visitors with an all round colourful experience.

Our top picks would be the Fish Pakora or the mouth watering Steaming Mixed Grill, there’s also a wide range of vegetarian options available including the Tharka Dhal and Bombay Aloo curries.
