If sports aren’t your thing, there are plenty of non-sport activities to join as well.
Including music, art and media which you can get involved with whilst at uni.

3. Better Health
Self care is one of the most important things you can do to ensure you are healthy, and that’s why we think focusing your new year’s resolution on better health is the perfect route to take!
Having a healthy lifestyle is not just about finding ways to lose weight, it’s about focusing on ways you can change your routine to make you feel better on the inside and out.
Ensuring you eat healthier food can be difficult whilst living in student accommodation.
However, having a meal plan can keep you on track.
Meal prepping the night before or for the week can help you keep up the healthy habits and improve your mood massively.
Implementing a new routine is also a step in the right direction.
If you haven’t exercised as much as you’d liked this year, why not make one of your New Year’s resolutions to get out and be more active?
Not only is exercise beneficial for your physical health but for your mental health too.
Consuming less alcohol will also boost your health, and will be a good way to start a fresh new year.
How does no hangover sound? Like a dream – we bet!
Try spending more time outside and less time on social media, as this can have a positive impact on reducing stress and achieving your new year’s resolution!
4. Commit To A Healthy Sleeping Pattern
Part of being healthy is by having a good relationship with sleep.
Students notoriously don’t have a great sleeping pattern, whether it’s due to staying up late partying, pulling all-nighters in the library or due to being unable to get a good nights rest.
Make committing to a healthy sleeping pattern one of your New Year’s resolutions.
You’ll find you get sick less often, you stay at a healthy weight, and you have better concentration and attention when you ensure you get enough sleep.
It’s not just physical health benefits either, you’ll find your mood has improved and you’re less stressed when you get between 7-9 hours of sleep per night.
Plus, we’re sure your uni work will see an improvement too if you’re not constantly yawning during lectures!
Research shows unplugging from your phone at least 30 minutes before bed can improve your sleep and helps you feel better the next morning.
It can be hard to sort out your sleeping pattern once it’s gotten to a certain point, but try to go to bed and wake up at the same time or at least similar times everyday.
5. Save Money
As a student, are you finding you’re always struggling for money? Christmas can be an expensive time of year, buying presents and all those parties you have to attend. It can be easy to overspend.
With the cost of living crisis impacting the cost of everythingggg, it may feel hard to save money but budgeting every month can help you control your finances.
You will spend less and have more money left over each month than you did before.
Feel like a challenge? Set yourself a start date and an end date, and between those dates do not spend any money apart from the absolute necessities.
You may find you have extra money left over, especially if you are someone who normally struggles to save.
6. Stop Procrastinating
New Year’s resolutions don’t have to be massive changes, it’s really up to you what steps you’d like to take to change your life.
The smallest step in changing a bad habit is still a step!
