What's On In Glasgow In Summer 2022
Scotland’s biggest city, Glasgow, is awash with exciting entertainment all year round, and during summertime especially as it’s festival season. Yippee! Festivals are one of the best things about summer, but it can be hard to know what’s going on and where to go.

1. Glasgow Science Festival

Whether you want to learn something new or pull on the safety goggles and get stuck into the experiments, Glasgow Science Festival has it covered.
Get ready for a jam-packed schedule of films, art collaborations, workshops, shows and discussions at a range of venues across the city. The award-winning festival team engages with over 60,000 people every year, and this summer’s event is the innovative highlight of a busy 12 months.
Since its launch in 2007, it has evolved into one of the biggest science festivals in the UK and welcomes people of all ages and backgrounds.

2. Glasgow Jazz Festival

16th – 19th June
Since bursting onto the scene in 1987 as part of the city’s bid to become European City of Culture, Glasgow Jazz Festival has attracted some of the biggest names in the business who have wowed audiences for three decades. This year will see the likes of Buster Williams, Lenny White, Ryan Quigley and Fergus McCreadie being featured upon the line-up.
The upcoming five-day festival in June is the 36th edition and will once again offer up a wealth of local and international jazz talent. This year will be the first time since 2019 that the event has taken place in-person due to the Coronavirus pandemic impacting the 2020 and 2021 editions, which took place virtually.

3. Coloursfest
Braehead Arena
6th August
The longest-running dance festival in Scotland. Coloursfest, arrives in Glasgow this August when the city’s clubbers and fans from across the country are in for another 13 hours of banging tunes.
This year’s stellar line-up boasts the likes of Ben Nicky, W&W, Will Sparks, and Darren Styles. It is expected to be bigger and better than ever, so get ready for a wild day!

4. TRNSMT Festival
Glasgow Green
8th Jul –10th Jul
TRNSMT is a music festival in the heart of Glasgow, taking place this July. This year’s line-up has Scottish legends Paolo Nutini and Lewis Capaldi performing with the likes of The Strokes, Foals and Wolf Alice also playing across the weekend. Trust us, there is nothing better than a Scottish crowd!

5. Van Morrison
Kelvingrove Bandstand
2nd August
After being re-scheduled twice once in 2020 and again in 2021, Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison takes to the stage at Glasgow’s Summer Nights At The Bandstand. Imagine being able to listen to Brown Eyed Girl live? Wow!
Unfortunately, all tickets have already sold out but keep your eye out for any tickets being re-sold on the official ticket provider Ticketmaster.

6. Calvin Harris
Hampden Park National Stadium
2nd July
DJ and music producer Calvin Harris is returning to Scotland for his first home concert in six years. The last time Harris performed in Scotland was 2016 when he headlined the “T in the Park” festival. This unmissable event is going to be a highlight of summer in Glasgow for sure!

7. Olivia Rodrigo
O2 Academy Glasgow
2nd July
Olivia Rodrigo brings the SOUR Tour to the UK and more importantly to Glasgow this summer. The GRAMMY-nominated singer-songwriter will be performing hits from her new album such as driver’s license, dejà vu and Good 4 U.

8. Guns n Roses
Glasgow Green
5th July
Guns N’ Roses are embarking upon their European tour in Glasgow this July. Experience metal classics Sweet Child O’ Mine, November Rain and Paradise City in-person this summer at Glasgow Green. Being able to say you’ve seen Guns N’ Roses live is definitely a flex (jealously is in the air).

9. Pride Glasgow
Glasgow City Centre
25th June
Scotland’s largest Pride event, Glasgow Pride is back for 2022 with a march on 25th June making its way through the city centre. This event celebrates the diversity of the LGBT community in Glasgow. As well as the march, this year’s events will be celebrated at venues across the city. Gay bars and clubs across the city are said to be hosting fabulous parties and events across the weekend.

10. Clydebuilt Festival
Riverside Museum
3rd – 4th September
Taking place towards the end of summer, this event Is a celebration of our Glasgow’s waterfront with a series of events at the Riverside Museum and Tall Ship. What to expect? Entry to the event is free and with family fun, boat racing, street food and drink, live music and culture beside the River Clyde – what’s not to love!
If you want to take part in Scotland’s Open Water Rowing Race, then entries are now open for 2022.
