The university occupies a substantial proportion of Bangor. In July 2019, Bangor University was ranked among the UK’s top 10 universities for student satisfaction in The National Student Survey. The university had an overall satisfaction rate of 88%. This is well above the UK average of 84%, and that of Wales at 85%. 

According to the Sunday Times University Guide 2012, it is rated top in Wales for teaching excellence and is among the top 15 universities in the UK in this category. 

Undeb Bangor

Aside from the academic perspective of the university, Undeb Bangor is the student union and the voice representing all undergraduates and postgraduates. Student life starts here, and many can get involved with a variety of exciting things! Joining a society, spending time volunteering or getting involved in a sports club is a great opportunity to find a new hobby and to meet like-minded individuals. It also means you can have a break from your University work and help relieve stress.

The Best Bangor Night Outs

Undeb Bangor work alongside Academi to provide some of the greatest night outs for Bangor university students. Expect cheap deals and drinks, brilliant music and an atmosphere unlike any other bar in Wales. Previously known as Peep nightclub, Cube is Bangor’s very own four-roomed nightclub, ideal for those who like partying ‘til the AM. Most who visit here enjoy the flexibility of different rooms for different genres, perfect for friendship groups with a variety of music tastes. 

The High Street

Who would’ve thought that this city would have the longest high street in Wales? If you’re staying in our student accommodation in Bangor, you’re bound to spend most of your spare time down here. For all things shopping, eating and drinking – this is the place to be! 

Heart of Bangor

Right in the centre of Bangor is where the main shopping street sits. There’s so many places to visit depending on some of the things you’re looking for. There’s a JD, River Island, New Look, Superdrug and Trespass. Deiniol is a small shopping centre in the middle of Bangor, featuring a range of over 20 stores for you to visit.

There’s a convenient Iceland store here, offering both frozen and chilled products to top up on, or you can browse in shops such as H.Samuel and Claires.
