Great Transport Links

While living in Coventry, you can make use of the great transport links that are available. The city is well connected by busses and trams and you will be able to get to wherever you are in no time.

Bus tickets are £2 per journey and can be either purchased through contactless payment/cash on the bus or you can opt for the SWIFT Card which is available in the west midlands.

Among the SWIFT cards, there are a couple of options depending on your travel needs. You can choose the SWIFT GO card by topping it up with credit or linking it to a bank card and tapping as you would with a contactless card.

This is helpful if you don’t want to carry your bank card everywhere and you can use this on any bus service in the West Midlands including trams. The fared will also be capped at either 1,3 or 7-day rates.

On the other hand, The SWIFT Pay As You Go (PAYG) card is a convenient smartcard that works like an electronic wallet for purchasing single and day tickets, eliminating the need for cash. Simply top it up with credit, and use it for bus and tram fares or parking at select Park and Ride locations. The card can also be shared with others!

Visit the West Midlands Bus Users website to find out more details.

You will be able to find student discounts on transport tickets if you are 18 and above in full-time education and or if you are 16-18 years old and not eligible for the 16-18photocard.
Through these discounts, you will be able to find discounted direct debit tickets, 4-week tickets and term passes.

Visit the Transport for West Midlands website to find out more details.
