8 Roxburgh is our newly refurbished student accommodation situated right in the heart of the city, perfect for travelling around Edinburgh!

From the top two floors, you have magnificent views of some of Edinburgh’s beautiful landmarks and scenery- you can see right out over the Forth River on a clear day.

There is an abundance of cafes, restaurants, shops, and pubs right on your doorstep, with plenty of buses that you can hop on and travel all over Edinburgh and its boundaries.

The best part though? It’s perfectly situated for your university commute – hooray!

The best way to travel to Edinburgh University’s George Square campus from 8 Roxburgh is by foot.

I actually tested the route and it took me only 6 minutes to be right in the centre of the square (and that was only because there was traffic-stopping me from crossing the road right away!).

Come out of 8 Roxburgh and head left down Richmond Place then take a right onto Hill Place until you hit Nicolson Street.

Cross over Nicolson Square onto Marshall Street and you’ll hit Potterow and many of the University of Edinburgh buildings – easy peasy!

If you need to get to the King’s Buildings campus just head to Nicolson Street, hop on a number 3/7/8 to Lygon Road, walk up to Mayfield Road then turn left and you’re there.

Alternatively, you could jump on a number 41 at Potterrow which will take you directly to campus.

You can hop on various buses for Edinburgh travel from Nicolson Street- there’s the 2 which will bring you to the Gyle at the west of the city where you can shop to your heart’s content.

The 3 will take you out towards Mayfield but you can jump off early and visit Craigmillar castle, and the number 30 will take you to Musselburgh where you can visit the races or take a stroll along the beach.

This property also has an onsite gym, study room, and social space ready and waiting to be used when government guidance allows.

If it’s the MGA Academy you’re here for the best way to get there is to walk! Come out of The Millhouse and turn right on Gorgie Road then continue right onto Balgreen Road and you have reached your destination.

If it’s Heriot-Watt that brings you here then all you’ve got to do is hop on the number 25 right outside The Millhouse and this will take you straight to campus in half an hour.

You can also jump on a number of buses (3/25/33) straight into town in under 20 minutes!
