“What’s life like here?” It’s the question every student asks before moving to university, and it’s the right one to ask. After all, floor plans and room sizes can only tell you so much. What many students really want to know is whether they’ll be happy with Homes for Students. Will you find your people? And will it ever feel like home?

That’s what we hope you’ll find out today, as you take the first steps towards living with us next year.

Where the Story Begins

Homes for Students have been looking after young people around the UK and Ireland since 2015. This has taken us to where we are today, with more than 60,000 beds across over 200 properties spread around our brands. We’ve won awards aplenty and are here to make your university experience easier and more comfortable. We’ve got rooms to suit every student’s needs, from private studio apartments to shared flats that are made for social butterflies. That’s just some of our journey, but what about yours?

Well, it probably starts with a nervous moment. That could be waiting for your exam results or meeting your flatmates for the first time. The good news is that you’re not alone. Every year, thousands of new and returning students set foot in a Homes for Students property and are mostly in the same boat! Our friendly on-site teams are here for you, so don’t hesitate to get to know them once you’ve moved in.

It’s All Happening in the Shared Spaces

Friendships are made in the common room, the shared kitchen, and the corridors after a big night out. Depending on where you choose to live, your new home is sure to have some amazing facilities for you to enjoy. This could be a gym, cinema room, communal lounge space, and more. All the while, our residents’ app, KLIQ, keeps you connected to your community. You can book activities and join our in-house events at the touch of a button. You could even win some amazing prizes with our regular giveaways. You might join us not knowing anyone, but you could leave knowing a city like the back of your hand.

Finding Your Rhythm

Before long, life at at your Homes for Students’ base camp will start to take shape. It may come in the form of a weekly workout with a friend, or a nightly study session that keeps you and your flatmates on track for success. What matters is the moments you share and the memories you’ll make doing even the simplest of tasks. In time, this room will be home and you’ll feel as relaxed as ever. You’ll also rest easy knowing your bills are included in your rental price and our helpful onsite maintenance team handle issues as they arise. There’s less to worry about, and that leaves time for you to have fun and study hard.

While it’s easy for some, it’s less so for others. That’s totally fine! If something isn’t right, from a leaking tap to a wobble in your week, our friendly staff are here to help. We’re also a partner of Student Minds, the UK’s biggest student mental health charity, so our residents can talk to anyone when they need support.

Don’t Just Take Our Word For It

The truest answer to what life at Homes for Students is like comes from those who’ve lived it before! That’s why the Global Student Living (GSL) Awards mean so much to us. There are no judges, just honest responses from students about the places they’ve called home.

Our luxury accommodation brand, Prestige Student Living, has a lot to be proud of. In 2025, The Place in Nottingham won Best Learning Environment and in 2026, Birmingham’s Onyx took home the prestigious Best Individual Property award. Meanwhile, 18 more Prestige properties earned Platinum status in the 2025 GSL Index, the highest possible standard a property can achieve. Another 60 earned Gold.

Additionally, our EVO Student brand received the honour of being recognised as the Best Private Housing for students at the recent GSL Awards.

Homes for Students was also the first purpose-built student accommodation provider to earn the Investor in Students Gold, back in 2022. In 2025, we also won Operator of the Year at the Property Week Student Accommodation Awards. We’re proud of everything we’ve achieved, and can’t wait to create more memories.
