1. Baxter Baristas

First on our list of the best student-friendly cafes in Coventry is Baxter Baristas, which is only a 3 min walk away from Coventry University. 

You can simply stroll off campus and head off for some tasty lunch and a brew or an end of the day treat. 

It is a lovely cafe with mouth-watering menus that include gluten free and vegan options.

Not to mention the tasty beverages, delicious cake and sandwiches they serve daily. We have to recommend their Grilled Ham Toastie and their Caramel Macchiato!

What is even better, they offer students a 15% discount – a great way for you to save those pennies. 

Head down to Baxter Baristas for a well deserved treat, their doggie-friendly too so you might just see some absolutely adorable pups – who can say no to that?

2. Bean & Leaf Coffee House

The one thing Bean & Leaf Coffee House knows how to do best is coffee, so if you’re after a good-tasting cup of Joe this one’s a must-visit. 

They are coffee fanatics and bakers who serve specialty coffee in a cosy, fresh and vibrant cafe in Coventry.

A perfect place to go with friends to grab a bite to eat before you head back to your accommodation or lecture, or on your own to study with a perfectly made cup of coffee to keep you going. 

If you don’t fancy a coffee that’s no problem. They also offer a wide selection of great teas like their Green Tea’s and Fruity Teas, amongst others.

How could we forget? Their Bonfire hot chocolate is what dreams are made of! 

It’s not far from Coventry university – only a 4 min walk, so why not drop by for some lunch or an afternoon treat? You know you want to!

Coffee#1 is a local cafe that is a perfect place to go after a long lecture – with a relaxed and welcoming environment, it is the place to unwind and destress with a lovely cup of coffee and a delicious snack.

We’ve tried and tested their Salted Caramel Banoffee Frappe and their Raspberry Portuguese Tart – give us moreee!

Kahawa Cafe is a popular cafe for students with its warm and welcoming atmosphere, beautiful coffee and amazing food.

If a sweet treat is what you’re after then Kawaha cafe will definitely deliver.

From a variety of ice cream flavours, waffles and cookie dough to mouth-watering cakes, you are 100% spoiled for choice!

They also have plenty of other options if you fancy something savoury or a nice warm drink during the cold weather.

We reckon you should try their Chai Coffee Latte! 

If you don’t feel like eating in they do offer delivery services through uber eats or you can ring up to collect. 

You’ll find them located on New Union Street, in the centre of the city, go give this place a try and see what you make of it.

5. Geek Retreat

If you are looking for something fun to do after a day of lectures then Geek Retreat is where you need to be!

Why? Because it is a gaming cafe!

Whether you are a gamer or non-gamer there is something for you at this inclusive and welcoming Coventry cafe. 

You’ll find this place inside Lower Precinct Shopping Centre, right in the heart of Coventry.

They pride themselves on providing a space for all things geeky, from superhero movies to anine to gaming to sci-fi.

You can meet, eat, trade and game all in one place. 

It is for sure a brilliant place to grab a milkshake and something to unwind and meet new people.

6. Sprinkles Gelato

If you are an ice cream lover then Sprinkles Gelato on Hales Street, which is just a 2 min walk from Coventry uni, is the place for you!

This award-winning dessert parlour offers handmade gelato, waffles, crepes, sundaes, cake and cupcakes.

You will find it hard to pick just one mouth-watering sweet dessert! 

They don’t just sell desserts either, they also sell tasty milkshakes, coffee and specialty tea.

Our go-to order is the ‘I Love You To Pieces’ crepe with Peanut butter and hot fudge sauce, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and milk chocolate sauce.

Whilst our fave drink ever is their Fudge Frappe. 

How long do you think it will be before you become a regular customer? We know we will be back for sure!

It might not be the best place to sit and study (we wouldn’t recommend even attempting) but it’s sure a great place to sit and unwind with your friends.

Bonus, Sprinkles Gelato offers a delivery service through Uber Eats, Just Eat and Deliveroo – so you can eat it wherever and whenever you like.

Gloria & Lil’s is a cosy little cafe in the heart of Coventry on Parkside, not so far from Coventry University campus. 

Whilst it may be new to the cafe scene in Coventry, this place is a must-try.

Trust us, you’ll love their delicious savoury dishes and sweet treats like their Rocky Road cake. 

It really is the perfect spot to relax and unwind after a morning lecture or bring some work along with you and grab a bite to eat and drink to keep you going.

You don’t need to eat at Gloria & Lil’s, you can also take it away so you can always grab something on your way back to your student accommodation.
