2. Omar Khan’s
Little Horton Lane
Omar Khan’s is a well-established Indian restaurant in Bradford that offers up traditional cuisine.
It is situated in the very heart of the city centre, making it the perfect pre, or post-night-out venue if you’re heading to the theatre or maybe you’ve been at the National Science and Media Museum and want to finish the day in style.
Visitors can also take advantage of the welcoming Early Bird menu and a fully licensed bar!
The restaurant has been going strong for over 30 years and places an emphasis on fresh ingredients, nostalgia and authenticity of Indian cuisine, and creative dishes that build a memorable experience for diners.

3. The Sweet Centre
Lumb Lane
Open since 1964, The Sweet Centre is a staple of curry in Bradford has been serving up delicious, authentic Kashmiri cuisine that really hits the mark.
The dining room aesthetic is that of a once grand and spacious space, that is now furnished in a simple manner.
Within the restaurant you will people who are clearly regulars and have their favoured spots in the restaurant and the owners and staff seem to be genuinely one big happy family.
You are transported to the Indian subcontinent when visiting The Sweet Centre and it does seem to be the beating heart and the original moment where curry in Bradford exploded into the scene we know today.

4. The Karachi
Neal Street
One of the oldest and most popular Indian restaurants in the city, this BYOB establishment offers up classics of the British curry house.
Rick Stein visited here years ago and loved it, and The Karachi is still seen on BBC food shows and clips regularly as a result.
The lamb Karahi and Rogan josh are two favourites on the menu, and the mushroom pakora is pretty special too.
Their main aim is to focus is on tasty dishes in a comfortable, simple setting.

5. The Kashmir
Morley Street
The oldest curry Bradford has to offer, The Kashmir may look a traditional in its décor, but it serves incredible Indian food that is fantastic value for money.
The café style setting is certainly a place where you can expect no frills. It is BYOB (Bring Your Own Booze) too, but no matter all of this, you’re visiting for one thing only, delicious food, and they deliver that!

Morley Street
The International is close to the action in Bradford city centre and is another fantastic curry house located on Morley Street.
The host is welcoming and fun, the food is really, REALLY good quality and the prices are cheap for the standard of food you’re eating.
You can also bring your own booze from the handily located shop just next door.
Everything about the International makes it feel like you’re visiting a family friend and having a big, warm hug from your favourite curry. If you have friends or family visiting you at uni, then this is a great place to wine and dine.
The sauces are thick, the lime pickle is strong in flavour, and everything packs a punch.

Great Horton Road
If you are after a hot and spicy curry, Bharat is the Indian restaurant you just have to visit. The jalfrezi they serve up is well known for catching out those who seek out a spicy thrill. Even with a warning, people assume it’ll be fine – do you think you can handle the heat?
Food quality really does shine through here, it’s not just about the heat. Bharat is always very busy too with regulars and new faces, a sign of a good curry house!

8. My Lahore
Great Horton Street
My Lahore is a weird one. You’ll find all the best Indian dishes you expect, incredibly tasty Karahi in particular and a favourite on the local takeaway scene, but it offers a whole host of different dishes too, such as tuna melts and lasagne.
It’s quite confusing at first but it delivers in its diversity, freshness and deliciousness, so don’t worry. It’s perfect for taking picky eaters so if you have that one friend who doesn’t want to miss out on the fun but hates Indian food, then you can get the best of both worlds here!
