Lab 11 is an industrial-themed club and DJ venue smack bang in the middle of Digbeth in Birmingham. Placed between the grand railway arches of Digbeth, this gritty warehouse aesthetic creates a unique vibe, with a mixture of industrial beams, smoke machines and some amazing light shows!

There are always regular DJ performances and unforgettable acts, including their famous TRMNL events which sometimes go on until 6am, perfect if you’re a night owl! 

Lab 11 also has terrace seasons showcasing the best talent in the techno and house music world, so if you fancy discovering some new great music, this is the place to be. 2. The Mill

The Mill is Digbeth’s bar and live music venue, situated in a large warehouse space with an amazing open-top roof garden. A firm favourite of both students and locals, expect to be mesmerised watching your fave band perform live here. 

Only a mere 15-minute walk from Birmingham New Street, this club is super accessible and easy to get to no matter where you are in this

It’s actually nestled next to the Victorian railway arches on Lower Trinity Street and coincidently neighbours its sister venue – The Digbeth Arena. So you have the best of both worlds when heading into this part of Birmingham!

3. The Nightingale Club

The heart of gay nightlife and clubbing, this absolutely huge venue has the capacity for around 2000 people! With a staggering 3 floors of music, 4 rooms and 5 bars, Nightingale Club is the largest and oldest gay venue in Birmingham, and the place to be if you’re after some of the best club nights.

4. PRYZM

Being the largest nightclub in Birmingham, PRYZM definitely has the reputation of being a class night out!

Located on the buzzing Broad Street, this glitzy venue features home-grown and international DJ’s performing hip hop, RnB and mash up in 4 different rooms of music.

This club is extremely popular amongst students as there’s always a great vibe and good drinks deals. If you’re celebrating a special occasion, they have booths available with table service, perfect for a fancy evening.

PRYZM are crazy busy on a Saturday night, as people head here for Lyfecode Saturdays, so if this is your sort of scene, make sure to get here as early as possible (or even book a ticket for that matter!)

5. Snobs

This venue is pretty much a combination of great tunes, cheap drinks, and a fun atmosphere! Open since 1972, Snobs is the home to Inde, rock ‘n’ roll, alt pop and retro jams.  Only a 5 minutes’ walk from Birmingham New Street,  this venue is known for its unforgettable nights out and impressive deals.

Big Wednesday, Rehab Friday, and Loaded Saturday are the main events hosted here but make sure to keep an eye out for one off events themed events they’re renowned for – you don’t want to miss! 6. The O2 Institute

You’ve probably heard of the O2 Institute for gigs, but did you know it doubles up as a nightclub too? Situated in the trendy Digbeth, this music and club really does stand out from the crowd. The O2 Institute first opened in 1995 and was known for its Victorian walls and vintage aesthetic.

This venue has a great range of club nights and has been host to some really well known artists, from the likes of Rita Ora to Conor Maynard. The main auditorium holds around 1,500 people, the library holds up to 600 and The Temple Bar being a more intimate area has a capacity of around 300 people.

9. Tunnel Club

Since they opened in the year 2000, The Tunnel Club has been leading the live music scene in Birmingham! If you want a booming industrial atmosphere with some very affordable drink deals, this venue is the place to be.  Close to the Jewellery Quarter, Tunnel Club has an amazing 7 rooms worth of music with a top notch sound system to bring music to your ears.

We’d have to recommend their rock nights on a Tuesday which has a £10 all you can drink deal. As well as deals, they’ve also got a huge selection of spirits, beers and alcopops on offer to keep your night going, you might even have some money left to top your night with a tasty kebab!

This nightclub specialises in reggae music and is set over three 3 floors, including a basement dance floor and bar. Situated in edgy Digbeth, there’s a real sense of community in this venue with their ‘People Standing Together’ motto, giving the club a nice family orientated feel.

The venue may be small, but it’s definitely booming! PST even has a private members club with specific members only nights including prize draws and freebies on your birthday.

11. Mama Roux

Mama Roux is one of the most iconic venues in Birmingham! It’s got the perfect combination of day time brunch and dine in, whilst hosting some of the most popular upcoming bands in the evening.

Nestled in South Birmingham, Hare and Hounds is an eccentric club venue which is renowned for loud music, brilliant bands and an all round fantastic night. The building itself has been standing since 1907 and has a Grade II listed status, so expect grand decor and art nouveau tiles!
