Located at Grand Central, pizza lovers get to pick from over 50 ingredients to create exactly the pizza they want, all at a fixed price! There are loads of toppings to choose from, including spicy Italian sausage, pineapple and Gran Moravia cheese if you’re feeling fancy.
Something very unique about @pizza are their dessert pizzas, yes, you read that correctly, dessert…on a pizza! Our personal favourite is the “Trunchbull” with toppings of sweet ricotta, raspberry coulis, chocolate brownie, chocolate sauce, icing sugar, mascarpone and chocolate flakes (ideal for chocoholics!)
The ingredients are deliciously fresh with a Subway style ordering system, allowing visitors to see all the toppings available right in front of them. @pizza provide quick, great value pizzas, and are a great option if you’re feeling peckish after some studying.
2. Digbeth Dining Club
Founded in 2012, this trendy street food destination is a multi award-winning venue. Digbeth Dining Club isn’t your usual dining setting; each trader is trialed to ensure that customers are getting the best experience possible at an affordable price. There’s a real bustling atmosphere at this venue with a great choice of music. For students wanting to go out and socialize with their friends, the vibe here is fantastic!
There are so many tasty options at Digbeth Dining Club that it would take forever for us to list them all, but a few highlights are the Vegan Curry from Buddha Belly and the Pulled Pork and Shredded Beef Buns at Dick’s Smokehouse. For those with a sweet tooth, there’s the Bournville Waffle Company, Flats Doughnuts, and many more. Just be sure you’re wearing some nice comfortable trousers whilst visiting, because your belly is going to be full!
3. Grand Central Kitchen
Did somebody say fry-up? Grand Central Kitchen is a small friendly independent restaurant known for their delicious and affordable full English breakfasts. Whether you fancy a nice hearty breakfast after a big night out, or a quick bite with friends, Grand Central Kitchen has many mouth-watering meals on offer.
If you’re not a morning person now, you definitely will be once you’ve tried one of their breakfasts! Slept through your alarm? Fear not, there are plenty of lunch options available from tantalizing burgers to filling jacket potatoes.

Everyone loves a good juicy flame-grilled burger, if you’re a big fan of stacking your burger with loads of tasty toppings, The Meat Shack is the place for you! They specialize in gourmet burgers, or as they like to call it ‘dripping filthy goodness’ what’s not to love?
The location itself is really ideal too, being close to Birmingham Hippodrome and Birmingham’s 02 Academy, this place is perfect if you want to grab a burger before a gig!
They have a scrummy range of burgers including the ‘Dutch Piggy’ which is an aged beef patty with Dutch gouda cheese, American cheese, streaky bacon, smokey chipotle mayonnaise and ice-berg red onion. Is your stomach rumbling yet?
Our personal favourite selection of the fries are the ‘Hangover Fries’ which consist of skin on seasoned fries, candy bacon crumb, black pudding crumb, gochujang mayonnaise and a free range runny fried egg.

This restaurant is said to be one of the best sources of Korean food in Birmingham. Kimchi Korean Restaurant offers delicious food at a very reasonable price in Selly Oak. They offer a great value lunch menu, ideal for students wanting to grab something tasty after lectures.
As Selly Oak is a renowned student area in Birmingham and the closest village to the University of Birmingham campus, this would also be a great place to take your family when visiting.
We recommend the Korean Spicy Chicken Wings if you fancy a kick, or the Soon Dobu, which is mixed seafood and soft tofu in a chilli broth, with an egg yolk placed on top that slowly cooks at the table!

Co-founders Frankie Heekin and Becky Powell have created a menu that changes with the seasons, with brunch, lunch, dinner and snacks available seven days a week.
The homemade Lasagna dish at BA-HA is a particularly hot topic, containing fresh vegetables, marinara, homemade cheese sauce and a cashew and parmesan and house salad, you won’t be disappointed!

Wok Chi in Harborne is passionate about their food and takes care and pride in how they source, prepare, and present their meals. They use fresh natural ingredients to provide their customers with tantalizing Chinese and South East Asian dishes.
Their food is very reasonably priced and the portions are absolutely huge which is always a bonus! We’d have to recommend the Salt and Chilli Squid and the Sweet Soy and Sesame Chicken Wings for ultimate tastiness. Wok Chi also offers a takeaway service, so if you fancy staying in your PJ’s and having a quiet night in, you can!
8. Hens & Chickens
This popular Indian Desi Bar & Grill provides local ales and authentic curries, a fantastic combination! Hens & Chickens was completely transformed into a spacious bar and eatery a few years back, and the sterling reviews speak for themselves.
Brothers Sonu and Sunny Rull bought Hens and Chickens in 2012 and introduced a North Indian menu of Punjabi cuisine. The buzzing atmosphere adds to the delicious food providing visitors with an all round colourful experience.
Our top picks would be the Fish Pakora or the mouth watering Steaming Mixed Grill, there’s also a wide range of vegetarian options available including the Tharka Dhal and Bombay Aloo curries.
