1. Steam Yard

This cute little venue on Aberdeen Court is perfect for meeting up with university pals for a catch up, with a large variety of different coffees on offer.

The best news is, Steam Yard do a coffee and a doughnut deal for just £3, what more could you want?

Steam Yard are well known for their ‘cro-nut’ which is basically a combination of an American doughnut and a croissant, filled with flavoured cream and topped with chocolate and honeycomb, popcorn fruit and cream! Wow!

If that doesn’t take your fancy, why not try their tantalizing applewood smoked cheddar & honey bagel for breakfast?

2. The Hidden Gem

The name speaks for itself really, this place really is a hidden gem, and not too far away from your cosy accommodation.

Just a 15-minute drive from Sheffield Hallam University and a 10-minute drive from The University of Sheffield, The Hidden Gem is a quiet retreat with super tasty food to match.

All of their produce is locally sourced, freshly prepared on site everyday and paired with ingredients to create the ultimate tasty combinations.

They also have a great vegan breakfast too, consisting of scrambled tofu, tomato, chestnut & wild mushrooms with wilted spinach, sautéed new potatoes and tender stem broccoli…delicious!

We’d also urge you to try the eggs royale, with hot smoked salmon, spinach, poached eggs and hollandaise sauce served on an English muffin.

3. Juke and Loe

Fancy a delicious brunch on a Saturday to wipe away that hangover? Juke and Loe on Ecclesall Road in Sheffield is a fabulous independent restaurant run by brothers Joseph and Luke Grayson.

Their relaxed brunch menus offer a variety of different contemporary meal options including set lunches and evening menus.

We’d recommend stopping by on a sunny mid-morning when the doors are wide open, so you can really soak in the good vibes.

4. That Place

This quaint little coffee shop is perfect if you need a caffeine boost, located on Chesterfield Road, That Place have a mouth-watering breakfast menu.

If you fancy a breakfast sandwich, we’d recommend a simple sausage and egg sandwich to tickle your taste buds.

Why not try a smoked salmon & scrambled egg bagel if you’re in the mood for something a little lighter?

The famous “That Place Breakfast” is a must try though, consisting of bacon, sausage, egg, beans, mushrooms, potato cakes, tomato and toast.

5. Tamper Coffee

Located smack bang in the middle of Sheffield city centre is Tamper Coffee, the rustic interior is what makes this place super unique, not to mention the tasty food.

Tamper Coffee lets you experience Kiwi coffee and food culture for very reasonable prices, creating the ultimate experience!

Need rejuvenating? Their “Rejuvenator” breakfast consists of cherry tomatoes, pickled cabbage, coriander and mango quinoa, paprika hummus, charred broccoli, mangetout and kale, all topped with toasted almonds!

If that sounds a little too healthy for you, we’d highly recommend the sausage or bacon breakfast burger, which speaks for itself really.

6. HowSt

This cute little café is located very close to home, in Sheffield Hallam university on Howard Street!

Offering a quaint, relaxed atmosphere, HowSt café has a delicious range of breakfasts and brunches available to fill your belly.

We’d recommend booking if you need a seat downstairs, because this place can get seriously busy due to its serious popularity, but believe us when we say, you won’t be disappointed.

The barista made coffee is delicious here, and particularly popular amongst visitors.

7. The Cabin

This relaxed Canadian restaurant is a must visit when you’re studying in Sheffield!

You feel right at home a soon as you walk into this cosy eatery, with great coffee, great food, and great service to match.

They even offer a takeaway service if you’re too hungover to leave your accommodation, which is always useful when you’re suffering!

If you’ve got a sweet tooth, The Cabin is perfect for you, offering a vast array of delicious pancake stacks and waffles.

When visiting, you get to choose your toppings and we promise you, there’s an amazing variety! Whether it’s whipped cream, Nutella, smoked bacon, grated cheese, or even chilli jam…The Cabin have got it.

8. Victoria Junction

This cosy eatery is in Victoria Quays and offers a range of different styles of food including amazing vegetarian breakfasts!

Built into an arch, the building is small but idyllic and offers amazing value for breakfast.

A full English breakfast with either tea or coffee will only cost you £5.25, perfect to soak up all the alcohol from the night before!

If you’re lucky, you might just catch a glimpse of Sheffield’s historic canal basin during your visit, a perfect opportunity to take a stroll before or after your food.
